It was 1982 or 1983 when, as a young boy, I first became interested in coins.  In the process of moving my great Aunt a dateless Buffalo Nickel (actual item shown in image at right) was found deep inside one of the closets.  I was instantly hooked.

I quickly learned that Buffalo Nickels were not readily available to a boy of 7 years old.  As such, my attention shifted to collecting circulated Jefferson Nickels.  They were easily attainable and even today you can still find many of the dates still in circulation.  I diligently filled my album until losing interest in the late 1980's.  My collection sat idle until 2010 when my son found it and immediately became curious.  I ordered him a Dansco album of his own and we began the journey of combing through rolls and rolls of Nickels.  We filled his book, brought mine current, and even found him a dateless Buffalo Nickel of his own in one of the rolls.

In 2012 I began to wonder if I should round out my collection with some Jefferson Proofs.  As I began to research them I learned of the 150 Felix Schlag autographed proofs and instantly realized that this would be the perfect addition to my collection.  I became aware that little seems to be known, or more accurately published, of these items and decided to launch this site in an effort to remedy this.
